From Space Suits to Food Pursuits
From a young age, I’ve always been fascinated by how things work and driven to reach new heights. Growing up in a Detroit suburb, I was surrounded by my parents’ Lebanese and Greek heritage. My mother, who immigrated from Lebanon, brought a love for traditional Lebanese dishes, which became a cherished part of my upbringing.
While pursuing my Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Michigan, I landed a dream job as a Flight Controller and Space Suit Engineer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The move opened my eyes to new cultures and experiences, but I soon found myself craving the familiar, comforting flavors of my family’s Mediterranean dishes.
And so began my journey into cooking, sparked by the need to recreate those flavors from home. Along the way, I became captivated by the science and history behind each dish. From sourcing ingredients, to mastering cooking techniques from chefs, I’ve dedicated myself to perfecting my craft.
After years of developing recipes, I started sharing my creations with friends and family, and their enthusiastic response inspired me to take it further and share my culinary journey with the world.
This platform is my way of celebrating the beauty of food and culture, and I’m thrilled to have you here. Let’s cook up something special together!
